5/14/2008: Saturday, May 17, is Spring Clean-up and BBQ day at the PTC. Everyone is invited to come out and help in the Annual Club Cleanup, followed by a BBQ. Bring a side dish and we will get started at 8:00am.

4/28/2008: The Fun Shoot on Saturday was met with warmer weather and a good turn-out. Everyone had a good time and enjoyed the spring like conditions.

4/28/2008: The first full week of the Spring League is now complete, and the competition will be good. If you haven't signed up yet for the spring league, there is still time. The rules allow for shooting one week behind or ahead.

4/7/2008: Reminder that Summer hours begin on 4/23. We will be open on Wednesday evenings in addition to Sunday afternoons. Spring league also begins on 4/23.

3/19/2008: Although the chill of winter was still in the air, the March 15th Easter Fun Meat Shoot was a hop-in good time. Here are some pictures from the day: Easter Fun Shoot. If you missed the Easter Fun Meat Shoot, join us next month for another full day of excitement.

3/9/2008: The annual membership meeting concluded today with the election of 6 PTC Directors. Five of the six Directors are incumbents returning for another two year term and include: Leisa Bunce, John Clark, Carl Smith, Larry Ford, and Dee Cahoon. The position vacated by Roland Ruby was filled by Alan Tate. The election of officers was then held: Randy was retained as the Pres, Dee was voted in as the new VP, Debbie was retained as Secretary, and Larry Ford was retained as Treasurer. The PTC Directors and Membership wish to thank Roland for his service and wish him well, and welcome Alan Tate onto the PTC Board!

3/9/2008: The March 8th ATA shoot at PTC went well with nearly 14 squads of shooters, and considering our still novice state with the new squadding software. After a questionable start with a rain/snow mix, the sun decided to shine and ended with a rather nice day. We had fun and hope the shooters enjoyed the day as well. Thanks to our sponsors, J&J Autobody, Airgas, Ferguson, and Fastenal, for the beautiful buckles and Shamrock Leather pouches. 3/6/2008: Hop on out to the PTC on March 15th for the Easter Fun/Meat Shoot.  Always fun and rewarding! Check out the announcement here: Easter Fun Shoot.

3/6/2008: This Saturday is a 300 target ATA registered shoot at the PTC, and Sunday at 10:00am is the annual membership meeting. All members interested in being on the Board of Directors are encouraged to seek a nomination. The election will occur during the meeting. 

2/20/2008: Mark your calendars for the Pre St. Patrick's Day Meat/Fun Shoot this coming Saturday. Also keep in mind the ATA Shoot scheduled for March 8th. The program can be reviewed by clicking the link here: Program.  Also make plans now to shoot in the PTC Spring League beginning April 23rd.

2/12/2008: The February ATA Shoot at the PTC was met with a slight breeze and temperatures in the 40's. The shooters challenged the elements to post respectable scores, and the day proved to be enjoyable. There were 16 or 17 buckles awarded to the shooters; provided by the Shoot sponsors: Larry Ford, Jumbos, and Western Mechanical and Industrial. The PTC sends a BIG "THANK YOU" to the sponsors. 2/12/2008: The February Fun Shoot is rapidly approaching (23rd), and has been dubbed the Pre St. Patrick's Day Fun Meat Shoot. Join us for some fun and excitement, and possibly some green targets! flyer

1/27/2008: The Saturday Fun Shoot was met with warmer temperatures and a light breeze, neither of which could stop the shooters. Shooters of all ages left with prizes and big smiles on their sometimes weather flushed faces! : ) Join us again on February  23rd for another Fun Shoot.

12/29/2008: Hopefully everyone had a Merry Christmas as we did at the PTC. We now are looking forward to the New Year and what it might bring. Start the New Year off right with some shooting practice on January 1st from Noon-4:00pm.

12/17/2007: The Fun Shoot Saturday brought cold temperatures, but as you might expect, the shooters just buttoned their jackets and went after the targets. By the end of day, the prizes were nearly gone and the shooters, although chilled, were grinning ear to ear. Join us next month on the 26th for another G-R-E-A-T Fun Shoot!

11/21/2007: The Turkey/Meat Shoot on Saturday was met with some overcast, but rather unseasonably warm temperatures. A great time was had by the shooters. Check out the Photos from the shoot here: November 17 Fun Shoot Pictures. Join us again on December 15th for the next Turkey/Meat shoot.

10/19/2007: October 14th was declared National Trapshooting Day by the ATA. In support this very special day, some the PTC Members participated in a 300 doubles day at the Ogden Gun Club. The weather was perfect and the hosts were exceptional.

9/19/2007: The Pocatello Trap Club will host a fun day for the Trap Kids as a big "Thank You" for their help and continued support during the 2007 shooting season, on October 6 at 11:00am.

8/13/07:  The August Gun Shoot was filled with sunny days and a light breeze. The shooters were all very hot (breaking targets), and the competition was exciting. Congratulations to all of the gun winners! If you missed the shoot this year, make plans to attend next year! 7/23/07: The Western Zone Shoot at PTC was held this past weekend, and the Shooters at the PTC did extremely well in the Western Zone competition. The clay dust was filling the sky as the shooters did their best to stay cool in the extreme temperatures. The Junior 10 shot competition on Saturday night was a big hit with the younger shooters, just as the catered dinner on Friday and Saturday night from Del Monte Meats was a hit with the older shooters. The shoot was a big success, and the PTC Directors invite everyone back again on August 9th for the Gun Shoot. The PTC Directors and Membership also thank Intermountain Beverage and Sportsman's Warehouse for their sponsorship of the Western Zone Shoot at PTC. 6/18/07: The Silver Buckle shoot was met with beautiful weather on Saturday, and a very windy Sunday. Overall the targets were ripe for the picking, as was demonstrated by several shooters throughout each event. The Pocatello Trap Club sends a personal Thank-You to all of the participating shooters, and if you missed this shoot, we hope to see you at the Western Zone Shoot at the Pocatello Trap Club July 19-22. We hope to have the shoot program posted online soon. Also check back for the Silver Buckle shoot results.

6/04/07: The Club spring cleanup went extremely well. Members joined together to cleanup debris, weeds, paint, wash down the clubhouse exterior, startup the club AC unit, and polish the clubhouse interior. We followed up the work with a fantastic BBQ. Thanks to everyone whom participated from Randy and the Board of Directors.

6/04/07: The Silver Buckle program has now been mailed out. Check back on the website later and there will be a link. If you have not yet seen it, the shoot will consist of 700 targets over 2 days, June 16 and 17.

6/04/07: Spring league scores have been updated through week 7.

6/04/07: The State shoot in Boise was exciting and with the wind, very challenging. The Pocatello Claybusters (SCTP Team) were represented by four squads. All of the kids did well and had a good time.

5/13/07:  Spring League is now well underway with a fantastic turn-out! As the third week comes to a close, the competition is stiff, and will likely intensify as shooters shake off their winter baggage. See some pictures from weeks one through three here! We hope to have League scores posted online beginning week 4.

5/13/07:  With the Idaho State Shoot just around the corner at the Boise Trap Club, it is time to get some extra practice in now. Remember the Trap Club is now on summer hours, Wednesday night from 5:00pm until dusk, and Sundays 1:00pm to 5:00pm.  To make RV reservations at the Boise Trap Club contact Art Voorhis at 208-888-7402

5/13/07: Larry Ford is scheduling training classes that will be conducted by All-American Britt Robinson on May 19 and 20. If interested contact Larry at the PTC.

4/8/07: Last day to shoot scores for the SRTA. The next stop will be Twin Falls Gun Club on April 20th.

4/8/07: Summer hours at the Pocatello Trap Club begin on April 25th. The Trap Club will then be open for member shooting on Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons.

4/8/07: The 2006 National Team Race competitors will be competing for the National Championship on Wednesday, August 8th at the Grand American! Representing Idaho will be local shooters: Men: Mike Stears, Steven Taylor, Tracy Dursteller, Women's: Desiree Dursteller, Zella Corder, Junior: Ashley Foster, and SubJunior: Shawn Cahoon. 4/8/07: Pocatello Claybusters plan "road trip." The Pocatello Claybusters have been invited to the Skyline Gun Club to practice and learn about sporting clays. The Pocatello Claybusters are also planning to shoot in a competitive shoot on May 12 at the Skyline Gun Club as part of a scheduled ATA shoot. On May 26th, the Pocatello Claybusters will travel to Boise to participate in the Idaho State ATA shoot.

4/4/07: Doubles League Update!!! The unofficial results are now in. Winning the A Class with a 390 is Mike Stears, the B Class Champ was Desiree Dursteller with a 353, the C Class was led by John Clark with a 346 (note that several scores have not yet been posted in the C class), and the D Class appears to be Jim Burt with a total of 332. Congratulations to all of the shooters!!! Remember the spring league starts April 25th.

3/31/07: The March 24th Fun Shoot was as you might expect, FUN! The weather was cooperative and the shooters pounded the "bacon" birds until they became sausage birds. If you missed out on the fun, don't despair, join us at the next fun shoot on April 28.

3/18/07: With just two weeks remaining in the doubles league, Dale Lindstrom is leading the "A" class with a 378, Willis Norton is heading up the "B" class with a 350, Jim Fitzgerald is leading the "C" class with 308, and Jim Burt is capturing the "D" class with a 332. 3/11/07: Annual Membership meeting and election held. During the annual membership meeting the Club financials were reviewed, completed 2006 projects, the current status of our SCTP Team "Pocatello Claybusters," and an equipment report. Re-elected to the board of directors was Randy Adams, Debbie Ferrel, Rich Greason, Gary Cahoon, and a new member Lloyde Herbst who will fill the position vacated by Lorin Jensen. Welcome Lloyde!

3/10/07:  The March 10 ATA shoot featured 13 squads! Steve Guardipee took singles Champion honors following a shoot-off with Tracey Dursteller. The event #2 Champion was Randy Corder who recorded a 98 in the handicap, and the handicap event #3 was Championed by Rulon Tracey with a 98. Eight of the Pocatello Claybusters shot in their first ATA shoot, and fun was had by all. Check out the scores and pictures!!!

3/3/07:  The Pocatello Claybusters, intermediate and jr. varsity Youth SCTP Team, took advantage of the 40 degree temperature to practice. The Youth started practice with a Safety review and a discussion of upcoming events. Bert Huth from Sportsman for Fish and Wildlife then introduced the SFW organization to the Youth and Parents. The Youth were then anxious to shoot where all of the kids scored well and demonstrated good technique. See the practice pictures here >>> Pictures <<<

2/24/07: With a light skiff of snow on the ground, Mother Nature was generally cooperative for the February Turkey shoot. Everywhere you looked there were shoot-off's; some as far back as the parking lot. The excitement continued throughout the day...see the pictures.

2/10/07: The weather was very cooperative for the February 10th ATA shoot. Several top scores were posted...see the shoot results here.

2/10/07: Pocatello Trap Club SubJunior shooter Shawn Cahoon is the Trap & Field age group Rookie of the Year, as reported in the February 2007 issue. Congratulations Shawn!

2/10/07: Youth program news has new link. Check it out!

2/6/07: The annual membership meeting and election of Directors is planned for March 11th at 11:30am in the Clubhouse.

2/4/07: The temperature climbed to nearly 50 degrees as the words "show me a pair" kicked off the doubles league. If you missed the kickoff, you can still join in the fun on February 11. Just get your League doubles card at the counter.

2/6/07: The Board of Directors voted to purchase two three additional automatic traps this year.

1/28/07: The weather cooperated for the SRTA kickoff. Although cold, that didn't stop the shooters from posting several 25 straights. Debbie did a great job of keeping things organized and explaining the rules to new shooters. If you missed the kickoff, its not to late to still get in. Join us on Feb 4th at 1:00pm.

1/28/07: The January Fun Shoot was cold! The cool temperatures, with a nice breeze, increased the intensity of the shoot. The shooters made the best of a cold situation and had a good time. Join us on February 24th for another Fun Shoot!

1/28/07: Plan now to shoot in the Spring league beginning April 25th! Stay tuned for details...

The doubles league will begin on February 4, 2007. The league committee, Tracy Dursteler, Randy Corder, and John Clark are finalizing the League rules. They will also be the governing body for the league. It's not to late to sign-up and participate in the league!

The Pocatello Trap Club Directors are encouraging membership participation in the Club activities. See the sign-up sheet in the Club house to volunteer! Remember it is Your Club.
